Vendor

The seller in a property transaction.

In UK property sales, the vendor is the legal seller — the person or entity transferring ownership of the property to the buyer. You'll see 'vendor' used throughout conveyancing paperwork (contracts, memorandums of sale, enquiries) as a formal term for the seller. Most estate agent communication uses 'seller' informally; solicitors always use 'vendor' in legal documents.
